Terms and Conditions

Let's be honest, people only tend to read these when something goes wrong, so if that's happened, talk to us about the problem and what can be done to resolve any issue you may have. That way we can hopefully remain good friends and keep the work flowing between us.

In the first instance, call us on 01626 870 426 or email sales@inspirwood.co.uk.

If you wish to read on, these terms and conditions have been written by a human (rather than a suit in Canary Wharf) to help protect both us and you, our client, against any misunderstanding. All work carried out and any resolutions required, will be subject to what is written below.

1. What these terms and conditions refer to:

These legal terms are between you (our customer) and Inspirations (Inspirations Advertising and Design Ltd/Inspirwood/us/we). You agree to them when you commission us to do work for you.

2. How to contact us

You can call us on 01626 870426
You can email us at sales@inspirwood.co.uk
You can write (or send flowers) to:
Inspirwood
The Old Quay Warehouse
Willow Street
Teignmouth
Devon
TQ14 8EY

You can also pop in for a chat if you're local and have some cake to share.

3. Quotes and Estimates

When you contact us to produce some artwork or to manufacture an item(s) we will work out a quote or estimate first, based on our conversations by email or phone. This is so that you can tell us if it works with your budget and to clarify our method of production and any specific details of the project. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to confirm that the quote meets your requirements, but you can always contact us to discuss and change any of the elements in the quote.

In some circumstances, either you, us or both parties, may not know exactly what the final specifications will be. In times like these (and it happens more than you might think), we will offer to produce a concept visual prior to quoting.

Either way, we will use the final quote as a basis of production and invoicing.

4. Proofs and Visuals

When you ask us to produce something, we will always send you a proof or visual of the final project so that you can check it is what you want.

You are welcome to ask for changes of the design and any of the elements. We will re-issue a visual for approval prior to production.

Visual representation or design work will be provided to the best of our ability. However, accuracy in colour representation with wood stocks, texture and other physical characteristics can vary during the final production process. Therefore, all proofs and visuals supplied to you are representative only in terms of final look.

Please be aware that it is your responsibility to check all aspects of the visual, including spelling, punctuation, wood type, size and process methods. If you have any doubts, you should make us aware before you approve, as once we produce the item, we cannot be held responsible for any errors that were not brought to our attention.

We offer a 'live sample' service, where we can produce a one-off example using the exact production methods and materials as the final project, so if you want to check final colours and finishes, this would be the recommended route. There is normally a nominal charge for this service.

We also reserve the right to charge for design time of your project. If you decide not to proceed with the final manufacture. This will be charged at the appropriate rate at the time.

5. Payment

It is our company wide policy to request payment when you order from us.

We think this is important for many reasons, mainly though, it means that we can pay our suppliers in the same way. This often gives us preferential treatment when it comes to price and delivery times for our raw materials. We can then pass these savings and efficiency of production times onto you, making it a win-win for everyone. We also feel that we shouldn't have to take the risk of high material and production costs without a commitment from our customers.

We can accept payment via bank transfer or credit card - although a charge may be made for cards if they are over £500.

We usually take payment once a visual has been approved, but may request a set up payment prior to this, if the design is going to take some time to do.

6. Delivery

Some projects are quick to produce and some take longer, depending on the nature of the job. For most items, we ask that you allow 7-10 business days for production.

We use external carriers most of the time to deliver our products and this sometimes can cause delays which are out of our control. Please give yourself enough time when ordering to allow for unforeseen issues like this or any other events that are out of our control.

Tight deadlines and specific dates:

We will always try to meet your deadlines where possible if you make us aware of them. If we think we can't make it in time, we will advise you as soon as possible during the process so that you can decide on what's best to do. We may ask that you organise delivery or pick-up as carriers are not always 100% reliable, and we would hate to miss your event at the final hurdle.

7. Damage or Faulty Goods

We want you to be confident in what we produce, knowing that you are going to get a good quality product, that is manufactured to the best of our ability. We strive to make this happen every time, and when it doesn't, we do take it personally. We are nice people here after all.

If you receive something that has been damaged in transit, please contact us as soon as possible and within 7 days of reciept, with photos and any relevant information, so that we can log a claim against the carrier and we will either offer a replacement or a mutually agreeable financial settlement.

If you have received something from us and it wasn't what you expected, please refer first to the proofs/visuals and let us know what you would like to be done. If it is a manufacturing error on our part we will do our best to rectify it as soon as we can for you.

Please bear in mind that wood is a natural product, so if this is a characteristic of the wood - such as grain, knots or how our techniques have interacted with it - we may not be able to offer a free of charge replacement.

In the first instance of any of the above, please contact us on 01626 870 426 or by email sales@inspirwood.co.uk so that we can offer our best attention and advice.

8. Wood Disclaimer

Wood is natural, unique every time and beautiful, which is why we love to work with it.

There may be instances, where after you have received it, something might happen to the wood, such as change in colour, bow, split or splinter. This can happen when exposed to different moisture or temperature environments and is out of our control. If you need any advice on this, please do get in touch and we can help with possible cures or preventative treatments.

9. Limitations of our Liability and Force Majeure

We print onto wood, not tablets of stone, so we cannot be liable to you for any loss that might arise from delays in production or deliveries, or damages caused that are out of our control. So please understand this.

Likewise, if there is an Act of God, legislation, war, flood, drought, unsuitable weather, failure of power supply, mechanical breakdown or too much chocolate cake to eat, you can't hold us responsible for this either.

10. Privacy

You should also read our privacy policy - it's riveting!

Thanks for getting to the end. If you have had a positive experience with us, don't forget to send us flowers or cake - we really like it.
